CELEBRATING CARERS WEEK 2020

Carers Week is well under way and the work our carers do is remarkable.  There is currently a big spotlight on the fantastic work that all carers do, not just our team but carers in general. The pandemic has highlighted how valuable our carers are and is showcasing their tremendous efforts.  Whilst that is fantastic to see, it is also well overdue.  Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, and to recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK.  There are 6.5 million carers in the UK, nearly 2 million are in a paid capacity, which makes care one of the largest work forces in the UK.  It is vitally important that we recognise the contribution carers make to families and local communities, workplaces and society, and that they get the support they need.  As part of our own recognition and reward to our own care team and to highlight the vital role carers play in our communities, Ascot Care have guaranteed every single one of our carers a free ticket to an up and coming thank you music festival.  The festival is called ‘Rocking in the Free World’ and was arranged as a thank you to carers, key workers and the NHS.
