Look back at Ascot Care Agency...

We are going to take a look back through 2019 for Ascot Care Agency…

Kick starting the year on a high, we were fortunate to be entered into the North East Business Awards. We were invited to attend the Award Ceremony in March - held in association with the North East Chamber of Commerce, these awards give the chance to showcase businesses of all areas.

We were involved in the ‘Noggin Sport’ campaign, supporting those with mental health and anxiety difficulties. We are proud to support local causes close to Ascot Care’s North East care homes. This campaign was created by professional rugby playing brothers Conor and Kieran Joyce, with the likes of Durham University also backing them.

Proud to extend our Agency services, 2019 saw us introduce our Compliance Services. These focus on keeping care homes aware of standards and compliant to the Care Quality Commission guidelines.

Supporting those who have served or those in the Forces is important to Ascot Care Agency. 2019 saw us become one of many sponsors for Force Atlantic on their journey to complete the Talisker Whisky Atlantic. The team of four took on the challenge to row the atlantic. Finishing in a fantastic time, the team boasted a record of sporting the youngest person to ever complete challenge!

Continuing our dedication to supporting those who have served, Ascot Care Agency, alongside Ascot Care, organised our annual Charity Golf Day in support of Hire a Hero UK. Hire a Hero is a charity that offers support to those who have served and helps them transition into civilian life after their service. The Golf Day was a great success like previous years, with our best turnout yet!

Welcoming new recruits to the team - in 2019 we introduced Angela Coates to Ascot Care Agency! She is our new Standards & Compliance Manager, following her former position as a CQC Inspector. We are proud to have Angela’s knowledge on board our team!

We introduced our Approved Dementia Standard Scheme -  this scheme is open to everyone, from our own care homes to external care settings, nursing homes or respite facilities, with a speciality and a responsibility to dementia care. The scheme will see care facilities be awarded accreditations for two years in Bronze, Silver and Gold levels on successfully showing they have met compliance in the standards required. Fantastic progression in honouring care standards.

Another new introduction in 2019, welcome to Andrea Anderson - as our new Senior Care Coordinator. Andrea will be involved with all aspects of the care provision we provide and will be visiting clients in their own homes to help them in anyway we can, improving the services we offer, and to keep a hands on approach to person centred care.

Ascot Care Agency sponsored a very special recruit last year - a Lance Corporal! Ascot Care Agency have been sponsoring Kyle Tomlins, a member of the Royal Corps of Signals for the Territorial Army in Darlington. We wish him all the success on his journey.

On the road to success - Ascot Care Agency was nominated in the National Care Awards in 2019, with Award Ceremony to follow in 2020. We are pleased to be nominated for the prestigious category of Care Employer of the Year at the national Care Awards. On top of this, Julie Tomlins has been nominated for Home Care Manager of the Year.

Tis’ the season to give back - and that’s just what Ascot Care Agency did in the festive season of 2019. We supported the ‘Money for Mission Christmas Cash for Kids’ that spreads Christmas cheer throughout the season by giving to less fortunate children.
