Ascot Care support the Armed Forces Covenant

The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise from the nation to proudly support those who have served in the forces, along with their families and to ensure they are treated fairly.

Ascot Care have been involved in many ways to support the Armed Forces Covenant, such as our involvement with ‘Hire a Hero’, which helps veterans to have the opportunity and support they need to make the transition back into civilian work life.

The Ministry of Defence's National Employer Recognition Awards scheme, launched in 2014 by the Prime Minister, recognises employer support for the wider principles of the Armed Forces Covenant.

Ascot Care attended the Armed Forces Covenant awards ceremony earlier this month which was a fantastic event held at Jesmond Dene house.  At this event, Ascot Care were proud to officially receive our Silver Award in recognition of our ongoing contribution to the Armed Forces Community. The scheme encompasses bronze, silver and gold awards for employers that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to Defence and the Armed Forces community. This includes the Reserves, Service leavers, Armed Forces veterans, the wounded, injured and sick, Cadets, military spouses or partners and their families.

Ascot Care are delighted to have received the Silver award.  We will continue to help the Armed Forces in any way we can,  supporting those who have served to have the opportunities as everyone else in day to day life.

Councillor Ken Stephenson, South Tyneside Mayor, who is actively involved in supporting the Armed Forces Covenant and who holds the Gold Award, congratulated Ascot Care for our work and contributions.

Ascot Care’s final fundraiser of 2018 (for Hire a Hero) is planned in December and we have already begun planning our full 2019 schedule that will underpin our support to the Armed Forces. The full schedule will be announced early in 2019.
